Personal Care Aide
Personal Care Aides must be licensed through the New York State Department of Health. You must have a certificate linked or certified by the New York State Home Care Worker Registry. PCAs preform non-medical services and supports for clients who need help with basic daily activities and physical care, or require assistance with shopping, cooking, or paying bills. The Personal Care Aide will assist the elderly, convalescents, or persons with disabilities with daily living activities in the persons home or in a care facility. Duties performed at a place of residence may include keeping house (making beds, doing laundry, washing dishes) and preparing meals. The Personal Care Aide may provide assistance at nonresidential care facilities and may advise families, the elderly, convalescents, and persons with disabilities on nutrition, cleanliness, and household activities.
Nursing
Registered Nurses must be licensed in New York State. They are responsible for overseeing the care of patients, supervising aides, and monitoring patient conditions and safety.
